Why Soda Is More Dangerous Than It Seems

One of our most popular drinks is soda, and nearly every household has a fridge full of cans. What we don’t realize is that is we care about our bodies; we shouldn’t be drinking them at all. They are in fact very bad for us.

If you need any motivation as to why you should cut soda out of your diet, maybe some of the following facts about soda will help to make that decision a lot easier.

The empty calories that are contained in soda have no value at all nutritionally. As they aren’t needed, our body’s simply store them as fat. You may think of a drink of soda as being free of fat, but the amount of sugar in every can is very fattening. So regularly consuming your favorite soda could result in substantial weight gain.

Soda can badly stain our teeth and cause tooth decay, fact. Regularly drinking soda discolors our teeth to such an extent they look yellow. Direct links have been scientifically proven between decaying of the teeth and soda.

A direct link has bee found between soda consumption and Diabetes, as the insulin has been produced so much quicker thanks to the all the sugar consumed in the soda. As the consumption of soda has risen, so has the amount of Diabetes sufferers.

All these facts have been unpleasant, but this one is downright scary. A new study has recently been conducted at the Georgetown Medical Center by Noel Muller. This study discovered that anyone with a soda consumption of 2 or more a week has a staggering 87% more likelihood of developing pancreatic cancer.

As this study isn’t conclusive with the results being so small, deaths caused by Pancreatic Cancer are on the increase and we should all seriously think about cutting back our soda consumption.

How To Never Have A Kitchen Mess

Cooking is one of our favorite hobbies, we love going into the kitchen and creating tasty meals and treats fro our loved ones. What we don’t love, however, is the trail of destruction that we leave behind. How come there’s so much mess?

In the past, life was so much easier. There were servants and kitchen staff who took care of all the preparation, cooking and cleaning up. How great would that be now? No cleaning and tidying afterward, just enjoying the meal and not having to worry about the rest.

Even if you couldn’t afford the luxury of servants, you were probably so poor that your diet was very limited, thus leaving very little tidying up to do afterwards.

Those energy saving devices that we all have in our kitchens; mixers, blenders etc add to this problem even more. These all need to be carefully cleaned too as well as all the pots and pans that are stacked by the sink.

The nearest most of us have to servants these days is a cleaner once or twice a week, and a war zone kitchen isn’t really in her job description! So we still stress about how we can continue cooking, but without the mess.

Cooking is one of my great passions in life, tidying up after myself is not. I’ve tried various things to lessen this chore; most of them didn’t work, I’m happy to report that this one did.

As you finish using each piece of equipment, wash it. This means that everything is getting washed quickly as you go and there is no build up which will take a lot longer to wash and put away. Adopt this method next time you are in the kitchen

So know you know that leaving everything until the end is just putting off the inevitable and they will probably be harder to clean by then as whatever is on them will have hardened. Clean each piece as you go and when you finish cooking, there will be no tidying up to do.

A Great Blueprint For Optimizing Your Kitchen

A good cook deserves a well laid out and organized kitchen. If you spend a lot of time making delicious meals for your families you at least deserve the best that you can have. Here\’s a few handy hints to help you achieve this.

There is never enough counter space in our kitchen, and unless you live in a mansion with loads of it then you will have to keep yours as clean and tidy as possible to maximize the space available. The last thing you want is a cluttered kitchen space that makes it difficult to find what you need and unbearable and stressful to cook in.

That energy saving appliance may seem like a great help, but if it takes up loads of your counter it will just be in the way. Buy the ones that fit under the counters if you can.

Another part of the kitchen that should always be kept tidy is your drawers. This saves you having to hunt around for something that you need in a hurry. Separate your knives from your flatware too.

There are many good knife sets that will take up very little space on your counter but have them close at hand. Keeping them in a block or stand will keep your knives sharp too, and you won\’t buy more than you need.

Choose your pans carefully, that half price set won\’t be such a bargain when you find that things cook really slowly in them and they are a nightmare to clean afterwards.

Heavy pans are very popular but when they are full of food they weigh a ton and you don\’t want to be struggling to lift them.

Although we love cooking, I don\’t know of anyone who enjoys preparing the food. This is a boring, tedious task but, unfortunately, necessary. Get yourself all the aids that you can to speed this bit up so that you can get to the bit you enjoy, cooking the food!

Check The Labels For All That You Drink

Are you taking steps at the minute to improve your health? This is something we do whether or not we are watching our weight.

The majority of health conscious shoppers have always checked the fat content on labels, and are finally starting to check the sugar content as well. It is gradually becoming known that the amount of sugar and other sweeteners in food is as important as the fat it contains. These hidden calories add to our weight problems.

The experts now agree that when we are trying to lose weight, or just improve our health in general, our drinks are as important as our food.

The serious impact these hidden sugars are having on our bodies is frightening. Obesity and other medical ailments are being directly to the hidden calories that we are taking into our bodies without being aware of it.

I now religiously check the sugar content on every single drink that I buy to ensure that it is as healthy as it claims to be. Don\’t be fooled by the fancy names on the list of ingredients; things such as cane juice, fructose and syrup are all types of sugar or sweeteners.

I now make sure that when I buy juice it is simply juice, nothing more nothing less. The natural sugars in pure fruit juice have nutritional values, although I must confess that now and again I enjoy a fizzy drink.

When going for a carbonated drink, I buy the healthiest I can find. Sparkling juices are particularly tasty and thirst quenching, especially those in the Fizzy Lizzy range. There are also some nice fruit spritzers produced by R.W. Knudsen.

The mixture of pure fruit juice and water that has been carbonated is all that\’s in these drinks, none of that stuff that we now know to avoid. The natural juice is also giving your body an extra boost of fruit.

Healthy Concepts For White Meat Chicken Plates

One of our favorite meats is Chicken. It is incredibly versatile, very lean and incredibly tasty.

Protein is one of the food groups that we need to keep our bodies healthy. This is one of the main reasons that chicken is so popular.

People do complain, however, that they find chicken to be dry and hard to digest. This seems to be particularly when they just have the same old thing again and again. Like a chicken salad for example. Try it with different things to really bring out the flavor.

Using chicken as the meat content in lots of different dishes ensures that it will never become boring. The worst scenario is that by eating it the same way all the time you can sicken yourself of it to the stage where you can\’t face another forkful. A major downside of this is that you will then start eating unhealthier meats again.

So if you are starting to get bored with your Chicken, try these dishes and you will soon love it again. All these recipes are very simple to make and are extremely healthy, so you needn\’t worry that you are increasing your calories.

A favorite dish in my house is chicken with a honey and orange sauce. Add extras to the sauce if you wish, such as almonds or raisins. This is a delicious meal that is sweet yet has a very low fat content. Give your family a treat by making this for them.

As all our fattening favorites have low fat versions, get yourself some sour cream or mayonnaise, tarragon and Chicken and create a very quick and tasty creamy salad. The low fat ingredients ensure that the dish is very rich but stays healthy, this is one of my favorite healthy dishes.

People tend not to realize that it is the bland taste of the chicken which makes it so versatile. You can create a dish using practically any fruit, veg or other flavors and it will be successful.
