Wedding Theme Propositions

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

Getting married should not mean that you must stick with the conventional and traditional way. When I say getting married the traditional way, it is when you get married inside the church and anybody is all dressed up. We could all help to make our special day just one of the most remarkable weddings that our guests will ever attend and it shall be the talk of the town.

I believe just about every bride and groom wants to have the most of everything when they get married. That is why there isn’t a reason for couples to get all dressed up in suits, tuxedos, coats and the wedding gown when they can get married in their most relaxing clothes.

1. Getting married by the beach is one of the most popular theme weddings that a lot of girls are dreaming to have. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ll have the beach closed for your wedding. You can have the best spot of the beach where the shore line is long enough to be your aisle and where the waves don’t really crash. You don’t want your wedding to get washed out by the giant waves and end up getting a mouth to mouth resuscitation kiss instead.

2. A garden wedding is also one of the best themes that modern couples are having. It’s not something new but the approach that’s being applied to this kind of theme nowadays makes it more unique and elegant. You’ll be walking on flowers and grass lined with dandelions and as you approach the groom, flowers will be showered upon you. This also makes a good venue for the wedding reception as well, following the wedding ceremony. You can serve your favorite salad and pasta and have everyone share the dance floor because it’s practically unlimited. Oftentimes, garden weddings are open-air weddings. Thus, checking the weather forecast for your wedding day is one of the most important tasks to do. You don’t want rain to ruin this day.

3. Fairytale weddings are most of the time held in Disneyland. Here, you can dress up as Cinderella, Princess Aurora or even Snow White and get married by the ever famous iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle with your dashing Prince Charming Groom, who is also dressed up as Prince Charming! Of course, you can’t help but have a multitude of park visitors watch your wedding ceremony so you’ll just have to live with it. It’s a park so there will be lots of people who will be gate crashing in your wedding.

4. Want a snow wedding? It is unusual and it is fabulous to have bits of snow fall from the sky as you walk down the open-air aisle. This kind of wedding might require a bit more of planning simply because it could involve warmer clothes instead of a designer gown that could get ruined in the snow. However, it’s terrific to heat things up just when the surroundings tend to be getting cold. A sleigh pulled by reindeers will likely be you bridal car and if you would like to be a little naughtier, throw snow at the girls as opposed to the bouquet of flowers in the end ceremony. Keep it that way and your wedding will turn into a snowball fight. It may be fun but be careful because you don’t want to end up in the hospital.

When The Wedding Is All About The Flowers and Cake

Saturday, March 27th, 2010

I was entering a shop that specializes on wedding items which include wedding souvenirs, traditional invitations, flowers and cakes when I went by a couple whom I knew were getting married since they were arguing regarding everything.

The girl wanted a bouquet of flowers that had 5 different kinds of flowers in it and the groom said it’s going to look like a bouquet of candies when their wedding motif is supposed to be silver and white. The guy wanted the girl to choose a bouquet of flowers that were closer to the tone of their wedding motif so that it won’t grab all the attention when she walks down the aisle. The girl was fuming and she said that she’s having 5 kinds of flowers in her bouquet or she’s not walking down that aisle. The guy didn’t have a choice but give way to her bride-to-be. If he doesn’t, she might go ala-runaway bride.

I thought everything had been settled between the couple so I walked passed them and went to the cakes section of the store. I’m a big cake fan and I just go there to look at the modern designs that cake designers are coming up with nowadays as compared to the conventional cakes that have the smooth layer called fondant and is overloaded with fruits or flowers. I never thought that the pile of pillows in front of me was a big wedding cake. It looked so much like a tall pile of Indian-inspired pillows that even had dangling tassels in it. It even had silver and gold beads that turned out to be candies. The 5-layered pillow cake looked so soft and yummy. Although I wasn’t sure if the cake on display was a real one or it was just a replica on display. I didn’t dare touch it. It looked really good though.

The couple whom I have heard arguing minutes ago, we’re arguing again but this time, it seemed to be relating to their cake. The guy desired a modern cake due to the fact that he needed the cake to stand out during the dinner. The girl didn’t want anything else but the 3-layered fondant cake covered with cherries, mangoes and peaches. I assumed her alternative sounded superb. But then the guy said that he will be paying for it anyway so it will be his choice of the cake that they are going to have for the wedding dinner.

The girl, once again, was furious and she said that the guy can eat the cake himself on their wedding dinner if he doesn’t pick her choice. The guy, I think, was fed up with all the yakking so they immediately left the store buying nothing. The store attendant was snickering from the back of the counter as he looked at me and said “they’ve been here 3 times now and still the same”.

With that, I thought maybe they should’ve hired a wedding planner who will coordinate everything that they will need in preparation for their wedding. That way, they won’t have too much work to do and the burden is distributed evenly. That is what wedding planners are paid to do and we as customers are responsible in making that decision whether we want to make our wedding a huge success or the biggest laugh that will be part of our photo albums forever.

Gizmos For Young Men

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

As a kid, I remember collecting pails of Lego just to be build replications of my favorite vehicles, buildings, animals and appliances I see at home. It is funny due to the fact right after I successfully build the replicas I want out of Lego, I have to take it apart so that I could build more out of the building blocks. I didn’t have much Lego back then so I didn’t really have any a choice but to take them down.

I continued playing with it until I was 15 years old. I was such a late bloomer with the newest games that time which include the SuperNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System). I only knew about Lego and Family Computer due to the fact that these were the only toys that we had access to as children. So our friends will come over to our house and play with our Lego or play a Mario Brothers game within in our family computer console from Japan.

As I grew up, I still wasn’t in a position to enjoy other toys that the other rich kids were getting to enjoy that time which include scooters, in-line skates, skateboards and trampoline. But I had something that the majority of the kids in the neighborhood didn’t have and they often came over to our house to ask me out to play. Of course, bringing my BMX along with me was the highlight. When we all get to the park, each one takes turn to ride on my bike and in return, they offered me their in-line skates, skateboards and other imported toys that their parents had bought for them recently just so they could get turns of riding my bike. I did appreciate their toys for a short period of time but certainly, I was still a kid who wanted all the toys in the world.

That’s why right now that I’m 28 years old, I may say that I’m getting to enjoy each of the latest gadgets that electronics manufacturers are usually coming up with on a regular basis to satiate the certainly never- ending thirst of gadget freaks like me. When the Xbox 360 became available, I was one of the first men and women in our neighborhood who owned one and I’m proud to say that it took quite a while for next person to order one like mine.

Then when the Ipod Touch came out, I also grabbed one for myself. Same thing happened when the Iphone, Iphone 3g and the Iphone 3gS came out, I was one of the first ones to have one. I also have the best laptop I know I could afford to use for gaming, for editing pictures and videos, a printer to print out all my work, a very good DSLR camera that makes me take professional pictures that could give Nigel Barker a run for his money. All these and I am still upgrading all the stuff that I find in the market that suits my taste.

You see, it is certainly not too late to enjoy the stuff that we weren’t able to appreciate as kids provided that we work hard for it. I believe that hard-earned money is funds well-spent.

Groom’s Wedding Day Must-Haves

Sunday, March 21st, 2010

In all the wedding I have seen, particularly in the movies, the groom looks like the one with all the time in the world. He does not have to be bothered in relation to his hair to be done for hours like his bride’s locks should. The groom does not have to think of any unique techniques to get into his coat or his tuxedo to help to make sure he wears it perfectly unlike the bride who might need at the least 2 or 3 persons to help her slip in to her wedding gown, making sure that each and every specifics of the dress are kept in place and nothing is torn or removed.

But then again, given that the groom doesn’t have to be as detailed as the bride, there are several things that the groom can do in order to avoid any mishaps during this special day. Nobody wants anything bad to happen during their wedding day so this list of must-haves is especially directed to the grooms out there. You are also responsible in keeping order on this special day. To do so you need to:

1. Make sure that the suit, tuxedo, coat or whatever you are wearing for the wedding is clean, mended and ready to wear on the wedding day itself. If you are required to dress up at the wedding venue, the least thing you could do is to bring your clothes there the day before so you will not have a chance to forget it. While you are at it, make sure that you bring your wallet, cash, credit cards and your driver’s license as well. If you’re going on your honeymoon straight after the wedding dinner, then you should pack your things completely a couple of days before to help to make sure everything is there.

2. If you’re supposed to get dressed at home or at the hotel, make sure to lay everything where you can see them. Don’t assume that you know where to find everything when you get dressed tomorrow because this is when you start to get rattled and nervous and chances are you’ll forget to bring something.

3. Pack additional toiletries such as comb, hair gel, hair spray, toothbrush, deodorant, dental floss, cologne and a good breath spray. You never know when one of your groomsmen might need something at the venue. At least you have some things that you could lend them.

4. Should you be under a medication, don’t forget to pack your medical pack set the night before. Put it in the bag where your other toiletries are and put it in your car right away so you won’t have any possibilities of leaving it behind. You don’t want any major medical conditions to take away the limelight from you and your bride during your wedding day.

5. Please do not forget to bring a nice breath spray or breath mints to freshen your breath. I know it is something personal but you might just take your bride’s breath away when you kiss her and you still have the smell of the pizza you ate the day before. You certainly will really knock her off her feet literally while you kiss her with your breath smelling like that.

Wedding Expenses – Who Pays For What

Friday, March 19th, 2010

I presume getting prepared for one’s wedding is just one of the most anticipated events in a couple’s life. This is when almost everything needs to be settled to make sure that the big celebration is a good one. We want all the people to recall this special day simply because everything turned out perfectly.

Nevertheless, no matter how much we prepare for this day, there seems to be always something wrong bound to happen. For example, the band required to play on your wedding reception didn’t come because they were only paid to play on your wedding ceremony and that is it. No one arranged for how long the reception location will likely be used and now the management is requesting for everybody to vacate the area in an hour because there shall be another reception to take place in the next hour.

All these unwanted scenes and so much more can certainly happen if the responsibilities are not delegated evenly to both the bride’s and the groom’s party. They could be avoided in several ways. Both the bride’s and the groom’s side should communicate really well to avoid any assumptions that the other side paid for this and that so we don’t have to pay for this and that. Having this kind of attitude spells out disaster in a wedding preparation.

Proper delegation should be recognized in preparation of a wedding. Usually, there’s a directory of the traditional wedding cost designation for the bride and the groom’s family. This will definitely aid both parties to settle on which costs to spend on and if they feel that it is not appropriate to them, then they will need to split up designations to make sure that everything’s fare and square. You do not want your in-laws fighting over the costs of your respective wedding even before they become legally in-laws, do you? Of course not. So here are a number of the traditional wedding cost designations that can organize your wedding costs.

The bride’s household could take care for each and every cost of the wedding ceremony procedures like the place of the wedding ceremony, the rentals for the chairs, lights, music and also the decorations that will adorn the whole wedding location. You can certainly have flowers for the decorations which is generally the case for weddings. They would also be the ones responsible for the whole wedding reception cost, which includes the area of the reception, the food and sorts of beverages to be served, music or live entertainment, the reception decorations and obviously, the most anticipated wedding cake. The bride’s household will also provide the gift for the groom. They are also responsible for the photographers plus the photo coverage of the wedding and the reception. And finally, the wedding gown that the bride will be donning.

The groom’s family wedding assignments include the rings to be worn by the new couple, the marriage license, the bride’s flower bouquet as well as the flower corsages, the rehearsal dinner and of course, who could forget the honeymoon where the brand new couple will be enjoying their brand new married life together. There isn’t really much to add unless of course you want a really extravagant and fabulous wedding. Then probably you could add more to the list as long as everything will likely be taken care of to avoid any inconveniences on your wedding day.
